Have you considered or are you currently doing business with the government? Are you aware of the resources and programs offered to win contracts and bids and find funding?
This Workshop will provide insight into where to find opportunities for government contracting, how to win those contracts, and what resources are out there for small businesses looking to do business with the government in the State of Oregon. In this workshop, we’ll hear from representatives from:
US Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District.
State of Oregon Department of Administrative Services, Procurement Services (ORPIN) – How to do Business with the Government and the importance of OregonBuys vendor registration and aligning your commodity codes in your profile that represent your products and/or services.
Business Oregon – Certification Office for Business Inclusion and Diversity (COBID)
U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) – SBA will be providing an overview of the federal government’s Small Business Program. The federal government is the world’s largest single purchase of goods and services. Buying everything from pens and paper to aircraft carriers, the federal government spends over $600 billion a year on goods and services. Federal government agencies have statutory goals for contracting with small businesses including businesses located in historically underutilized business zones (HUBZone), woman-owned, disadvantaged, and service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses. SBA’s presentation will cover each of these certifications including eligibility requirements, benefits and how to get certified.
The Secretary of State’s Office of Small Business Assistance (OSBA) – serves as the statewide ombudsman for Oregon’s small businesses. Businesses and nonprofits with 100 or fewer employees turn to us when they need help interacting with state and local government agencies. OSBA works collaboratively with small businesses, government agencies, and technical assistance providers to make navigating state and local government easier.
