Portland-based Aunt Fannie’s, signaling continuing maturation, has hired former Salt & Straw Ice Cream Director of Marketing Meghan Hastie as its first chief marketing officer.
Earlier this week, Fannie’s announced expansion of its product line and placements in Target stores.
“Meghan joins Aunt Fannie’s at an exciting time as we sharpen our focus to release new products, onboard new retailers and elevate our brand globally,” CEO Mat Franken said in a news release. “Meghan’s track record at Salt & Straw, where her marketing strategies accelerated consumer and retail brand awareness resulting in significant revenue growth, will be instrumental in executing the company’s profitable growth strategy.”
In addition to her nearly three years at Salt & Straw, Hastie had stints at Liquid Agency and Gerber Gear in Portland.
Aunt Fannie’s uses “whole and food-based” ingredients in household cleaning and pest-control products that it says allow beneficial bacteria to flourish. This cutting-edge focus on the microbiome has been appealing to investors, who poured nearly $5 million into the company in two 2017 fundraising rounds, the most recent closing in December.
