If you answered yes to all of the above, then you are a serious contender for the inaugural Wyatt Starnes Memorial Award. The winner will receive a one-year scholarship to OEN’s educational workshops, programs, and events, as well as $3,000 in cash.
William Wyatt Starnes (pictured right), founder and CEO of SignaCert and cofounder of Tripwire Inc., died on May 10, 2014 at age 59. Says John Stewart, Chief Technical Officer for Cisco Systems, “Wyatt was the rare and valuable combination of visionary, intellect, and larger-than-life entrepreneur. [He] made a huge impact on our industry during his life, and in his memory continues that legacy.”
Holly Files, past OEN Board Chair and SVP of Customer Success at Puppet Labs, adds, “Wyatt was a wonderful example of Oregon’s entrepreneurial spirit, driving innovation in cyber-security and bringing significant economic benefit to the region.”
Can you carry on Starnes’ legacy? The Wyatt Starnes Memorial Award will be presented on October 15, 2014 at OEN’s 2014 Tom Holce Entrepreneurship Awards in Portland, Oregon.
