OtherWillamette Angel Conference Announces the 2013 Finalists

The Willamette Angel Conference (WAC) has announced the five Launch Stage finalists for its 5th annual conference to be held on May 9th at the CH2M HILL Alumni Center in Corvallis. The finalists were chosen from 40 Oregon and Southern-Washington based start-up companies.

The five finalists are vying for investment estimated to be in excess of $200,000*. The WAC investors are actively performing due diligence on the finalists to determine which companies are best suited for their investment.

In addition to the launch stage finalists listed above, five Concept Stage companies will compete for a separate cash prize and in-kind services. These include Corvallis companies BioSenz, EnergIndependence, and TrashTalkr. As well as Eugene companies Hallspot and QE Chemicals, Inc.

This year is the fifth since the WAC began in 2009. The group includes investor members from Eugene and Corvallis, divided roughly half in half. The WAC event switches between Eugene and Corvallis in alternating years. The Eugene Chamber of Commerce leads the development, sponsorship, organization, and hosting of the event.

*The investment amount is still pending because the investor group is still open to new members.
