Did you know that OEN’s Entrepreneurs Foundation of the Northwest (EFNW) helps young companies connect and give back to the community?
For a look at the amazing work that EFNW participants like Elemental Technologies and Zapproved are doing to support the greater community, check out the photos and recaps they recently shared with us below.
Elemental Employees Just Keep on Giving
The year 2012 has been a busy one for Elemental with many successes, including providing streaming solutions to broadcasters worldwide for the London Olympic Games. As we grow as a company and expand into new geographies, we are still mindful of the awesome Portland community that is our foundation. We do our best to scale our community service efforts alongside our company growth. Just in the past few beautiful summer months, we have helped restore Tryon Creek, tended to fresh produce in the Oregon Food Bank’s Community Garden, taken phone donations in support of Oregon Public Broadcasting, and made meals for families in need by way of the Ronald McDonald House Make A Meal program. We look forward to working with several more organizations before the year’s end, including the Children’s Book Bank and SOLV.
Zapproved Employees Pack 2,500 Pounds of Food for the Oregon Food Bank
Zapproved, a partner with Entrepreneurs Foundation of the Northwest since 2010, recently spent 2-3 hours packing 2,500 pounds of food distribution by the Oregon Food Bank. Oregon Food Bank has a regional network of community organizations that provide emergency food boxes; one box can provide a 3-5 day supply of food for families in need in Oregon and Clark County , WA.

Already, OEN EFNW participants have returned over $10 million to the Oregon/SW Washington community in dollars raised, volunteer hours served, and goods and services delivered benefiting 100+ nonprofit organizations.
