Washington State University Vancouver is recruiting small businesses to participate in their pro-bono Business Growth Mentor and Analysis Program (MAP) in the fall semester, starting August 20, 2012. Senior business students provide analysis of a company’s financial, market and organizational capabilities and create an actionable plan decision makers can use to grow their business.
The student teams work under faculty instruction and with the support of seasoned business professionals. The program operates as a consultancy, where students have the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge and build business skills. Students bring a fresh perspective, help improve business insight and provide a realistic plan to move the business forward.
Participating companies invest a minimal amount of time, only 10-12 hours over the course of the 16-week semester, and the team signs a confidentiality agreement. In return, they receive about 600-700 hours of free consulting services from students and business professionals.
