We at Oregon Entrepreneurs Network envision a robust and thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem in the state of Oregon and in the Pacific Northwest – one in which anyone with a good idea and the ambition to go after it can find the support they need to test it in the real world.
Our mission is to help develop inclusive economic prosperity and resilience in Oregon by nurturing diverse innovation and entrepreneurship, supported by the local capital, expertise, and ecosystem to launch and scale innovation-based companies.
Oregon Entrepreneurs Network (OEN) was founded in 1991 by a coalition of entrepreneurs and business leaders convinced that Oregon should be planting the seeds and cultivating the growth of innovative local entrepreneurs, “angel” investors, and local investment funds in order to build long-term economic resilience. It is a place-based model designed to identify and capitalize on the unique strengths of Oregon in the national and global marketplaces, while opening up access to capital, expertise, and technical assistance to new startups.
In its 28-year history, OEN has connected with more than 60,000 community members via its events and programming; in fact nearly 2,500 entrepreneurs and investors reported making valuable connections at an OEN event during 2019 alone. A series of Angel Oregon events facilitated direct investment of more than $3 million by a pool of individual angel investors into Oregon-based companies, and a $155K investment was made in a food and beverage company at 2019’s Oregon Angel Food.
As the only statewide, sector-agnostic entrepreneur support organization in Oregon, OEN helps economic development professionals focused on innovation and entrepreneurship in local communities statewide.
